Abstract
This presentation introduces Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy as an
emerging treatment modality in implant dentistry. PEMF technology utilizes controlled
electromagnetic pulses to influence biological processes at the cellular level, promoting
tissue healing and bone regeneration. The presentation examines how PEMF works, its
effects on bone and soft tissue around dental implants, and its potential applications in
both preventing and treating peri-implant complications. Clinical research demonstrates that PEMF therapy can improve implant outcomes through enhanced osseointegration, reduced inflammation, and better soft tissue health. The Miniaturized Electromagnetic Device (MED) represents a practical application of this technology, designed to deliver localized electromagnetic therapy directly at the implant site. This presentation reviews the scientific basis, clinical evidence, and practical considerations for incorporating PEMF therapy into contemporary implant treatment protocols.
