Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of contemporary dentistry by
enabling a data-driven, predictive, and patient-centered approach to diagnosis,
treatment, and practice management. This course provides an evidence-based
overview of how AI technologies are integrated into various domains of dental care,
from image-based diagnostics to personalized treatment planning and continuous oral
health monitoring. Participants will examine the use of AI in enhancing the interpretation
of radiographs, CBCT scans, and intraoral images, as well as its role in orthodontic,
implant, and restorative treatment simulations. The course also highlights AI
applications in patient engagement, clinical decision support, and administrative
efficiency, demonstrating how automation and machine learning contribute to a more
sustainable and effective dental practice. Ethical and regulatory considerations,
including algorithmic transparency, patient data protection, and professional
accountability, are critically discussed. Designed for clinicians, educators, and
researchers, this program equips participants with the conceptual understanding andpractical framework necessary to implement AI responsibly and to align dental
innovation with global standards of quality and patient safety.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Describe the scientific principles and emerging applications of ArtificialIntelligence in diagnostic, therapeutic, and administrative contexts within dentistry.
- Critically assess the impact of AI-driven technologies on clinical accuracy,
- Recognize the ethical, regulatory, and professional challenges associated with integrating AI into dental education and clinical practice, ensuring compliance with international standards.
